The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be

current skincare

hey guys i have a pretty simple skincare routine at the moment.  i'm trying out a lot of new products right now but i only want to use one new product at a time so i can really tell what's working and whats not.  alright here it is:

{MORNING}

CLARISONIC MIA -- i know there are some mixed reviews out there on the clarisonic, some people seem to think it breaks them out.  but luckily i haven't had this experience i use it everyday with a sensitive brush head but i only use it for about half the time in my opinion its a little too rough for my skin if i use it for the whole time.   anyways i use it with the neutrogena oil free acne wash facial cleanser - pink grapefruit.

CLINIQUE CLARIFYING LOTION {3} --  for me this is just a so-so toner I find it to be a little too drying and harsh on my skin. so i'm definitely on the search for a new toner. any suggestions?

NEUTROGENA RAPID CLEAR SORE PIMPLE GEL -- i use this on spots as needed  i definitely think it cuts down on how long those pesky pimple stay for.

CLINIQUE DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT MOISTURIZING GEL --  this is the PERFECT daytime moisturizer for me. it never leaves my skin feeling greasy yet gives it the perfect amount of moisture

{NIGHT}
CETAPHIL DAILY FACIAL CLEANSER - five words -- an oldie but a goody

MURAD POST ACNE SPOT LIGHTENING GEL --  about a year ago i had a really bad break up on my cheeks (usually i only get acne on my t zone)  and once it cleared up i was left with those annoying little acne scars.  so i tried this product they seemed to fade a little, then i got a laser treatment done by my dermatologist (warning: you will be left with dark purple bruises for a couple weeks to a day)  im still using the gel to fade the spots a little more.  all in all i think it's a good product but takes some time to fade the spots.

PHILOSOPHY HOPE IN A JAR {for dry, sensitive skin} - i would never use this moisturizer during the day as it tends to leave my face feeling a bit  sticky.  for a night cream though i think it is perfect i wake up with soft  skin and my skin never flakes even in the winter months.  the only downside to this product -- the smell - think forest  and medicinal. yuck

i'll keep you posted on the new products i'm currently trying out!

my go to beauty products

so we all have that one signature look, or as i like to call it an "oh my gosh i have to get out of the house in fifteen minutes default look" -- wow that was a mouthful.  for me i don't put makeup on before i leave the house simply to look presentable i actually truly enjoy applying it and miss it if i don't get the chance to put it on.  anyways enough chit chat now i'm going to fill you in on the products i use when i don't have time to leisurely think about what i'm putting on my face.

NARS SHEER GLOW {foundation} -- in my opinion this is a light to medium foundation, if you have a lot of breakouts i don't suggest it but it does wonders to even out skin tone.  nars describes it as having a satin finish, and sheer glow is pretty spot on this foundation gives you a believable glow yet it doesn't make your face look like an oil spill.   in case you're wondering my shade is deauville (yes i am extremely pale but i am growing to love it!)

MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH NAURAL (light) {setting powder} -- this is the  perfect powder to set your face, it's sheer coverage, never looks cakey, and just gives skin a natural "your skin but better" finish.

BENEFIT HOOLA {bronzer} -- this matte bronzer works perfectly for an all over splash of color and for contouring.

MAC  PAINTERLY PAINT POT {eyeshadow base} -- this is a perfect skin toned cream base to use.  finding the perfect base was a turning point for me it was so frustrating to see my eyeshadow creasing half way through the day , now i never worry about it. painterly  keeps my eyeshadow in place from morning to night.

MAC EYESHADOWS {shroom and satin taupe}-- shroom {satin finish} looks gorgeous sweeped across my eyelids, add satin taupe in the crease and outer corner and i've got a relatively pulled together eye look.

URBAN DECAY  24/7  LINER {underground} -- gorgeous  brown pencil liner with a hint of plum.  it compliments my eye color like a dream and doesn't look too harsh.

MUFE LASH FIBERS &  L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS  {black} {mascara} -- my lashes are the shortest lashes you've ever seen. well maybe not but they're barely noticeable without mascara.  that's why i love the lash fibers they elongate my lashes and act as a great base for my favorite mascara  {currently l'oreal voluminous}  just a warning at first i found this mascara to be a pain in the butt, it was clumpy and wetter than i usually like a mascara but after a week it dried up a bit and quickly became  a top mascara.

KORRES LIP BUTTER {guava} -- this lip butter makes my lips unbelievably smooths , mutes out my lip color {i'm a nude lip lover} and gives it a nice not too shiny shine.

you're beautiful, don't you ever forget that.
do you ever wonder where it all begins?  all of the lovely beauty gurus i follow on youtube and on their blogs  seem to have an endless amount of makeup and i always seem to come back to the same question.  how the heck could they possibly have that much stuff?  so i've decided to document my journey towards an overwhelming and completely unnecessary amount of beauty products on this blog.  take the journey with me while i expand my rather small makeup and skincare collection.  suggest products i should try, ask me to review a product you've been on the fence about, tell me about the brands you love.  bottom line i have no idea what this will turn into but that is what will make it worth the ride.

peace. love. makeup.
